Governing the Agents You Already Run

A half-day working session for the executive team of an organization that is piloting or running AI agents. At your offices, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Now booking dates from January to March 2027, from $7,500.

By 3 p.m., your team will have

  • A map of the AI agents you already run, with the three workflows to govern first.
  • A shared view of where liability sits under US law and what your regulators will ask to see.
  • Decision rights tested under pressure: who can pause an agent, who hears that an objective is flawed, who talks to the regulator.
  • A one-page governance design for your highest-priority workflow.
  • A score against eight executive questions, and a 90-day plan with owners.

How the day runs

Four working hours and an hour for lunch.

10:00 a.m.

Opening

The question we answer by 3 p.m.: if your agents cause harm tomorrow, can you show what you reasonably did today to prevent it?

10:15

What changes when AI acts

Why agents create a gap between what the organization intends and what it can see, and what recent research shows about agents working together.

10:45

Where liability and regulators land

California, Colorado, the federal picture and your sector's supervisors. Your general counsel is invited to co-present.

11:25

Your agent exposure map

Every agent your team knows of, placed by impact and autonomy, with the three workflows to govern first.

12:00 p.m.

Lunch

1:00

Tabletop exercise

Your executives play their own roles as an afternoon of agent activity unfolds.

2:05

Governance design for your top workflow

Intent, limits, pause rights, review and records on one page.

2:40

Scorecard and 90-day commitments

Eight questions, scored privately and then compared. Every action gets an owner and a date.

The tabletop

A live exercise in which AI agents that broke no rule create regulatory, legal and reputational exposure in a single afternoon. Your executives play their own roles, with the authority they actually have.

Versions exist for lending, insurance, healthcare and wealth management. We do not publish the scenario: it works best when your team meets it cold.

Who attends, and what we need

Who

Six to ten people. Typically the CEO, CFO, COO, general counsel, chief compliance or risk officer, CIO or CTO, security lead, and heads of the business lines where agents run.

Before the day

About 30 minutes of pre-work per executive, an inventory of the agents in their area, and a 30-minute call with your general counsel.

On the day

A room for the group, a screen and wall space. We bring the materials.

What you receive

  • A participant workbook for each executive.
  • A written summary within two business days: the exposure map, the gaps the tabletop exposed, the governance design and the 90-day plan.
  • A 30-day check-in, and the option of a 90-day follow-up session.

The Essentials workshop includes the workbooks and a one-page summary, without the full written report or the 30-day check-in.

We agree with your general counsel beforehand how notes and outputs are prepared and kept.

Fees

A flat fee, not a price per head, so the whole leadership team can be in the room.

Essentials

$7,500

For smaller firms. Up to six executives, a standard tabletop scenario, the workbooks, and a one-page summary of your exposure map, scorecard and 90-day plan.

Founding client

$9,500

The Standard workshop for the first three organizations to book for the first quarter of 2027, in return for agreeing to act as a reference, named or anonymous.

  • Travel within Southern California is included. Elsewhere, travel is charged at cost.
  • A 50% deposit holds your date.
  • Half the workshop fee is credited toward an Agentic Safety Audit booked within 60 days of your workshop.
  • Came to When AI Acts in Irvine? Your ticket price is credited toward a workshop booked by March 31, 2027.

Questions executives ask

Do we need to have read the white paper?

No. The morning briefing covers what you need.

Is this legal advice?

No. We invite your general counsel to co-present the legal session.

Is it tied to an AI vendor?

No. It is vendor-neutral and works with whatever agents you run.

We only have pilots. Is it too early?

No. A pilot that touches customers, staff or money is live as far as a regulator is concerned.

Can it run remotely?

It is designed for one room. If your team is spread out, ask us about running it as two shorter online sessions.

Book a date in the first quarter of 2027

If your AI agents cause harm tomorrow, can your organization show what it reasonably did today to prevent it?

Tell us your preferred dates, how many executives will attend and your sector. We will reply to arrange a short call.
